9: Stress is placed on the first syllable of neutral themes and on suffixed person markers when in final position or when appearing before the simple subordinate and contingent markers. Definite articles and reduplicated neutral themes receive slight secondary stress. In all other situations stress is even throughout the word.Stress is distinctive in two cases: syntactically it distinguishes compounds from verb strings, and morphologically it distinguishes the bound object -o from the reflexive derivative -o..
