55/1995:215-216: Main stress falls on the strong syllable of the penultimate foot, with secondary stress on alternating feet before it. There is an alternating pattern of prominence (Hayes 1980:55/1995:215-216)

71-111: Basic Rule:Stress the first syllable, and stress the penultimate and all alternates before it. Main stress is on the penult. When "unstressable" and stressable schwa's enter the picture, things get much more complicated. Lesourd (1993) brings considerable argumentation to bear to analyse this language iambically. The first syllable is parsed into a single foot, and then iambs are assigned from left to right respecting inherent weight of some syllables. Lesourd places a LEFT headed intermediate layer above the feet to make sure the final foot is weak. The right headed word layer then derives stress on the prefinal foot-head. (Lesourd 1993:71-111)
