Stress was fixed on the final two syllables and depended on the quantity of the vowel. It fell on the final syllable if it was long and on the penultimate syllable if the final syllable was short. Unfortunately, the Polabian materials available to us today contain no words in which both ultima and penultima are short (Dogil forthc.)
