401: Primary stress is located on the final syllable. Secondary stress occurs on alternate syllables to the left of the primary stress. Some suffixes are inherently stressed. If these are attached to a stem, they get main stress, and a secondary stress occurs where the main stress would have been. (Kakumasu 1986:401)
