64-67: If a word consists of only light syllables, accent will fall on the penult when the total number of syllables is odd and on the final syllable when the total number of syllables is even. If a simple word ends in a heavy syllable, that syllable will receive main stress. Simplex words ending in HL receive penultimate stress. If a word has a heavy syllable somewhere, followed by several lights, one can compute stress starting from the heavy one. The accent is tonal. (Hayes 1995:64-67)
